SearchAli Monitoring

Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how the SearchAli Monitoring browser extension (“Extension”), published by SearchAli (searchali.com) and listed in the Chrome Web Store as Elasticsearch Performance Monitoring, handles information when you use the Extension.

What we collect

SearchAli does not receive any data from this extension. Nothing is collected, processed or transmitted to SearchAli or any third party — including personal data, cluster metrics, query content, credentials, browsing history or analytics. Cluster metrics stay on your device for the local dashboard only.

Data stored on your device

The extension stores the following on your device only, using the browser extension storage API (for example Chrome storage). This local storage is not a SearchAli collection:

• Cluster configurations: URLs and optional credentials (username/password or API key) for clusters you add manually.
• Preferences: theme (dark/light), polling interval, alert settings, and selected cluster.

Cluster configurations and credentials remain on your device. They are never sent to SearchAli, extension developers, or any third party.

Elasticsearch monitoring data

The Extension does not analyze the content of documents indexed in your Elasticsearch cluster.

The extension talks only to the Elasticsearch cluster URLs you configure. It does not send cluster data, metrics or responses to SearchAli or any other remote service.

It may retrieve operational monitoring data such as cluster health, node stats, index stats, indexing and search rates, and latencies solely to display them in the dashboard on your device.

Monitoring responses are shown in the dashboard only, in memory on your device. SearchAli does not receive or store them. When you close the extension UI, those in-memory views are cleared.

Browser extension permissions

The extension may request permissions such as:

• Storage — to save cluster configurations and preferences locally on your device.
• Broad host access (for example “Read and change all your data on the websites you visit” in Chrome, or “Access your data for all websites” in Firefox) — so the extension can connect directly to Elasticsearch cluster URLs you configure, including when CORS is not set up on the cluster.

This extension does not read or change data on websites you visit for browsing purposes, and it is not designed to do so.

Host access is used only to communicate with Elasticsearch endpoints you add. This is a common pattern for browser extensions that talk directly to self-hosted APIs without requiring cluster-side CORS changes.

Third-party services

The extension does not use third-party analytics, advertising, crash reporting or remote data collection. There is no telemetry.

Data sharing

We do not sell, rent or share any extension-related data, because SearchAli does not receive any. No user or cluster data is uploaded to SearchAli servers.

Your controls

You can remove cluster configurations at any time inside the extension. Uninstalling the extension removes locally stored configurations and preferences from your browser profile.

Children's privacy

The extension is not directed at children under 13. Because the extension does not send data to SearchAli, we also do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the extension or applicable rules change. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will reflect the latest version. Material changes should also be reflected in the Chrome Web Store privacy disclosures for the extension.
